Willmar to Welcome Humber-Anderson Tractor Plant In City

Humber-Anderson Manufacturing Co of St Paul and Minneapolis will relocate its Little Oak tractor factory to Willmar. The Willmar Tractor Manufacturing Co will be formed with Swan Anderson and others as local backers. The plant will start at once in Willmar Machine & Foundry Co facilities, add a 60 by 70 foot extension, and employ 25 to 30 workers after opening. Chas Wallin named general sales agent. A quiet wedding joined William B. Houck and Carrie Miranda Bjorkman at the Synod parsonage with witnesses Lillian Boyd and Lucile Anderson. Mrs Pederson and children visiting Twin Valley for about a month.

A pending sale of Elfstrum & Co. drug store to J. B. Seagren, formerly of Cannon Falls and later Aitkin, Minn., is under invoicing as the stock is tallied and the deal nears closure. Elfstrum plans outdoor time after exiting the business, while Seagren surveys the inventory. Mr. and Mrs. Seagren have arrived for the transfer.

Planning for Big County Fair at Kan diyohi County

Kan diyohi County Fair Association Board met to review fair preparations. Fencing authorized, no permanent grandstand, north slope as natural bleachers, cattle and horse show planned, tents for cattle and poultry, swine and sheep pens, altered fair entrance to ease congestion, autos to exit via Park Street, no wife beating in carnival crowds, pennants for auto owners, premium books being printed for mail distribution, children’s day planned, daylight fireworks feature added, potential record fair year anticipated. Sunday school outing at Solomon Lake Synod church announced with lunch and address by Rev. J. N. Andersen, collection for Rice Orphans Home. Melvin O. New Piano and Voice Teacher Joins Willmar Seminary

The Willmar Seminary announces Miss Eva M. Myhre of Newfolden Minn as piano and voice culture teacher. She holds diplomas from the Con servatory of Music at Red Wing and comes highly recommended. Miss Myhre succeeds Miss Evelyn Grindeland who taught the position the last two years.

Two Robberies Saturday Night Reported in Local Town

Two business houses were broken into Saturday night. Central Minnesota Produce Co. was entered and about four dollars in stamps stolen while the safe remained locked. Berg & Soderling tailor shop also broke into. four suits, a valise, and small change taken. A hammer was used to open a window, but the safe was not opened.

Marshall routed Willmar 10 to 4 in a one sided contest as Willmar pitcher Joe Holmberg struggled against two Marshall hurlers. Insurance Men Hold Big Minnesota Agency Convention

The Minnesota Agency of the Central Life Assurance Society held a Friday and Saturday convention at Green Lake near Willmar with about fifty attendees. Officers elected were H. A. Chipman president A. J. Nelson vice president Miss Lena Paulson secretary and J. H. Halvorson treasurer. The event featured banquets and talks by President Peak Dr. Smouse and Secretary Everett. Attendees from multiple towns joined the outing and meetings.
