W J Pinney travels to Minneapolis on business. Numerous visits to Grove City, Sherman, Hutchinson, Atwater, Stevens Point, Penno ck, Green Lake Beach, Crescent Beach, Paynesville, and other points are recorded, with multiple trips by residents to Minneapolis and Chicago.

Gennessee Jotti Gennessee Jotti Aug 15 threshing and visits

Miss Emma Berg assisted her sister during threshing. Mrs. M. Hagenson arrived from Duluth for a visit. The Gennessee Freshing Co started the fall threshing season last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Peterson welcomed a baby boy. Several local residents visited relatives and attended threshing activities. The Great Northern introduced a new low, fast engine for speed along major routes. New shop foreman S. J. Taylor announced at Garretson. Mary Sorline and Sophia Neste visited Dr. Petersen.

Butter Exhibit at Street Fair Highlights Willmar Event

Willmar Street Fair adds a butter scoring contest with a portable glass topped refrigerator to safeguard exhibits. Three large tents will host vegetables fruit grain and butter, ladies displays, and poultry with an outside poultry expert to judge. Willmar becomes a hub for county products despite a poor harvest season.

Esperanto Congress Draws World Attendees From Many Lands

Martin E. Tew sails to New York and Washington D C for the Sixth International Esperanto Congress August 14 to 20. Delegates from Britain, Scandinavia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Africa, Asia, South and North America converge to hear debates, speeches, songs, and poems all in Esperanto, including a performance of As You Like It and Sunday church services. Universal brotherhood and a shared language aim to unite diverse peoples.

Found Dead in Wheat Field Near Tennessee Farmer

The body of August Maschger, 26, a solitary Tennessee farmer, was found in a wheat field near his home last Friday afternoon. Last seen August 4, he had acted strangely and reportedly faced a second degree assault case involving neighbor Dennis Wheeler. A bottle with morphine was found, leading authorities to believe self-inflicted death. Maschger had recently posted bail of 900 dollars and had been released before the incident.

August Anderson a long time Willmar resident died at his home on Litchfield avenue after an illness of about a week He was born March 24 1846 in Gate Hedemarken Norway and came to the United States in 1850 He served in the Civil War and was a charter member of the Col Hey Post G A R He leaves his wife and four sisters and a brother Interment will be in Fairview cemetery The obituary also notes the death of N A Anderson a Spicer resident and references a separate illness and visitations

Willmar Carnival Promises Prize Auto and Grand Acts

Willmar street fair organizers consider awarding a 1911 automobile as carnival prize pending a Monday meeting. The event will feature thrilling acts by Rollo on roller skates, the LaMoure trapeze troupe, pyrotechnics by Gregory, and music by the Willmar Military Band. Independent tent shows are hoped to be booked, with acts like Streets of Cairo and Swedish Dancers planned. John A. Johnson of Burbank was severely injured when a mower sickle damaged his leg. he was transported to New London for treatment and is recovering.

Lands in Red Lake County the next big land value rise

A speaker urges Kandiyohi County residents to buy land in Red Lake and Marshall counties now, arguing northern Minnesota offers a similar climate and crop yields to the south.
