Minneapolis firm Wallot Motor Trek Co plans a Willmar plant to manufacture auto trucks. Local investors led by Edw. G. Waller inspect town sites and expect a capital base of 100000 dollars, with Willmar residents invited to buy shares. A test track may arrive soon to showcase the machine amid renewed optimism for industrial growth.

Rev Andersen Returns from Coast Post Trip

Rev Andersen returns from a six weeks coast trip visiting Spokane Everett Parkland Portland and other places. In Portland he met Attorney Sammel Olson and at Yacolt C Jorgen Olson. He spent a week at the Pacific district Synod meeting in Silverton Ore and rode a Pacific steamer and stayed at a mineral water health resort. He preached seven times and knew church people in the district. Miss Zeptson of Renville was a guest at Mrs Botnen's home over Sunday.

Deaths of Willmar residents Christoffer Bonde and Clas Jorgenson

Obituaries report the death of Christoffer Rasmussen Bonde at 72 in Willmar after six months of illness, detailing birth in Denmark, emigration to Willmar in 1880, marriage to Hansine Hansen, children Peter Bonde and Mrs. Mathilda Gillman, and a funeral in Synod churchyard. Separately, Clas Jorgenson, 39, a Green Lake native who lived in Willmar since infancy, died Aug. 6, 1912, with funeral planned at his house the following Saturday.

Bethel Y P S Plans August Meeting and Program

The Bethel Y P S of the Swedish Lutheran church will hold its next meeting on Wednesday evening August 14. The program features a piano duet by Ethel Carlson, vocal solo, piano solo, recitation by Amy Fridlund and Lillian Johnson, and a speech aria by Theo N Dahl deputerdine. Insurance Men to Hold Second Annual Outing at Green Lake

The Central Life Assurance Society state agency plans its second annual outing at Green Lake on August 14 and 15 for agents wives and friends from across the state. Secretary H G Everett and former president George B Peak will attend and Peak will address the Willmar Commercial Club on Wednesday evening. The note mentions Peak’s insurance industry standing and the event’s expected interest. Meanwhile Willmar Hardware stock is being inventoried with Chas Nelson and Ludvig Ellefson considering purchase to continue the business. Theodore Helvig visits from Blooming Prairie before returning home.

Two Conductors Busted For Grand Larceny In Willmar

In Willmar two Great Northern freight conductors Albert F Garwell and Emil J Stallin were bound over to the October grand jury on grand larceny charges after police observed two men flee a hardware store with pails of fishing tackle tools and silverware. Bail set at 250 each. A wedding followed nearby as James L Rock married Abbie R Day near Eagle Lake with Rev J Parmeter officiating.

Willmar Commercial Club Sees Freight Facilities Critique

At a sparsely attended meeting the Willmar Commercial Club declared freight facilities at Willmar Station inadequate and unsatisfactory. A committee was formed to investigate and report resolutions for action. The club discussed plans for the Seventh District editors banquet and invited members to an Aug 14 address by Geo. B. Peak. Supt. Foster was asked to invite the Western Educational Association to Willmar in October. The room improvements drew praise, and W. B. Crosby presided in the president’s absence.

Kandiyohi shuts out Spicer in low scoring game

Kandiyohi defeated Spicer 3 to 0 on Sunday afternoon. Holmberg pitched effectively for Kandiyohi with nine strikeouts and one hit allowed, while Ronning yielded four hits and eight strikeouts for Spicer. Kandiyohi scored in the 4th on an error and later 2 runs in the 6th, winning $50 and most gate receipts.

Sixty fourth birthday of Rev Gustaf Peterson celebrated

Last Wednesday in July the sixty four birthday anniversary of Rev Gustaf Peterson pastor of the Bethel church was marked by a party of about one hundred parishioners. They gathered at the Carlson home, escorted him to the parsonage, and presented a purse of nearly $50. Rev Peterson thanked them and said he feels as young as ever. Misses Myrtle Johnson Minnie Fridland and Ethel Carlson provided piano music and refreshments were served by the ladies.

Editors Gather for Seventh District Outing at Willmar

The Seventh District Editorial Association plans a Friday meeting in Willmar with about thirty five outside editors expected. After a six o clock banquet at Assembly Park the group will attend Dreamland, then tour Green Lake by auto Saturday morning and a lake launch ride with a light lunch. Sunday offers a free social day with good lake accommodations promised.

The Foot Lake Improvement question rekindles talk of restoring navigation between lake sections split by the dump. City council members differ on spending. Magnolia steamboat owner L B Berg proposes two affordable openable bridges around 250 dollars to allow boat passage, with plans for council review.

Anniversary program for Acton Indian outbreak observed

A 50th anniversary observance of the Acton Indian outbreak is planned for Ness church grounds, Aug 18. The event features a speaker from abroad, Greenleaf band music, choral songs, and duets. Activities start about 10 am with a noon dinner served by church ladies and confections and wool drinks sold at stands. A reunion of pioneers is anticipated with strong county turnout.
