Tragic Lake Lillian Fire Claims Mr and Mrs A M Green

In Lake Lillian last Friday April 21 a couple died in an oil explosion. Mr. and Mrs. A M Green formerly Hilda Ledell of Willmar were found burned together inside their kitchen. The husband tried to save his wife and both bodies were recovered as the community mourns. The accident is deemed accidental and occurred at the Susens farm home. Side notes tell of the double funeral at the Lutheran Free church with many local mourners and relatives attending.

Local residents trek to cities for visits and business

A long list of area individuals made trips to the Twin Cities and nearby towns for business, Easter visits, teaching duties, and family gatherings. Names include Henry Sletten, P. C. Brandt, Emi Nelson, Vera Nelson, and many others, with several returning from Minneapolis, St Paul, Redwing, Benson, Priam, and Pennock for holidays, work, or familial time.

Bridal couple honored at Masonic temple basement

Entertained at the Masonic temple basement Tuesday evening in honor of Miss Neilie Botnen and W R Olson of Charlson North Dakota who were married at noon. About one hundred guests attended. The evening featured games, grand marches, and a lunch around ten. Ferns and hearts decorated the tables with hearts suspended above. Toastmaster L Q Thorpe introduced remarks by Prof A C Pederson Prof A Struxness Norman Tallakson K T Rykken and Peter Bonde. The event was described as very enjoyable.

The seller invites buyers to bring cans and purchase the low prices.

Mothers Club Social Benefits Public School Pupils

The Mothers Club invites all to a coffee gathering Thursday afternoon at the Masonic Building basement starting at three o'clock to support welfare of public school pupils. FIRST PRESBYTERIAN ELECTED TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT ATLANTIC CITY

The First Presbyterian church elected Rev. W. Bryn Jones as commissioner to the General Assembly meeting in Atlantic City starting May 18. Easter services drew large crowds with special choir music and a solo by Mrs. Rowst. Miss Ethel Wakefield from Minneapolis will lead a chorus rehearsal Friday evening. Bethel Lutheran and other churches held services with planned music and Sunday activities. Local notices cover staffing changes, repairs, and city resolutions on salaries for city officials.

Italian Laborer Run Over by Train

Andrew Masie an Italian laborer in the local yards was run over by an incoming freight on Tuesday after five. Nine cars passed over him after he grabbed a hand rail and swung under a pile of cinders. Masie, about nineteen, had just finished a round of car orders to save time by riding flat cars. The body was taken to the undertaker and relatives notified in St Paul.
