Mrs Margrethe Qvam wife of H F E Qvam died this morning at 12 40 at her Firnttreet home after a kidney disorder and a week of illness Her funeral will be Friday at 3 pm from the Lutheran Free church with Rev Gynild officiating Burial will be at Lutheran Free church cemetery She was born in Leejessko gen Gulbrachsdalen Norway on Nov 15 1827 about age 78 She came to the United States in 1865 with her husband settling in Carver County before moving to Willmar in 187 and later living with family She leaves three children Joba Andrew and Mies Petra plus many grandchildren and friends Also included are parish notes from St Luke s church and other local items including a Willmar Atwater baseball game and school literary program details and a business sale to Aston Swenson with H E Crawford aiding the new owner.

Breckenridge triumphed in the Minnesota High School Debating League final against Albert Les at Minnespolia hall on Friday. Judges awarded Breckenridge the loving cup after a spirited contest, with Albert Lex supporting the affirmative and Breckenridge the negative. Superintendent Tanning and Willmar observers praised the lively debate.

Death Answers Call of Mrs Julia Gaughan
On Monday morning at 10 a.m. the death of Mrs Julia Gaughan occurred at her sister’s home at the corner of Eighth Street and Litchfield Avenue after a battle with tuberculosis. She came from Elma, Iowa six weeks ago and was cared for by her sister and mother. Funeral services were held at nine o’clock this morning with Rev Father Malloy officiating, and interment followed at the Catholic cemetery.
