Noted minister passes away in Fargo memorial
Rev Ole Paulson, longtime pastor and founder figure in Lutheran Free Church circles, dies at his Fargo home after heart failure. The Norwegian American leader, born in Solin Norway in 1882, served in Carver county and Willmar, helped found Augsburg Seminary, led Lutheran work across the Northwest, and was honored by churches in Duluth and St Paul. Funeral plans place services in Fargo and Willmar with Augsburg Seminary representatives delivering sermons.

Crushed Under Car Wheels Fatal for Train Conductor James Hackett
James Hackett, a freight conductor on the Sioux Falls to Garretson run, died after being crushed under the wheels of a flat car loaded with stone in Sioux Falls yards. He died at ten the next morning from blood loss and unconsciousness. Aged 45, he left a wife and two children. Surviving relatives in Willmar include his brother William, and sisters Mamie Hackett and J. A. Long, with other siblings in Hawarden, Iowa. Funeral held Saturday, body returned to Hawarden for burial. Hackett was a former Willmar resident with strong railroad ties and many local friends mourning his death.

Mrs. Kjerstie Thorson wife of Reier Thorson of Lake Andrew died last evening at 6 at the farm home from heart failure. She was 67 years 6 months 18 days old born in Norway Oct 10 1839. Survived by husband four children Ole J Nickelson Thrond Alvig Anna and Theodore Thorson. Funeral arrangements pending for Friday or Saturday. Also a head on collision at Hanley Falls between two freight trains delayed railroad traffic with no injuries to trainmen.

Criminal court actions wrap up in Willmar session
In Municipal Court last Wednesday two cases were resolved. Franz Nelson pled guilty to assault in the third degree upon Earl Neuberger and paid a $9 fine plus costs. A separate Lake Lillian case involved Mrs. Mary Jacobson as complainant against her husband Anton Jago son. he had a preliminary hearing and was released on $100 personal recognizance. The case was continued to the 26th at 10 am with Samuel Porter appearing for the defense. Jacobson is charged with driving his family from the home and mistreating them. Kay down visited the Damholf family a few days. Nanky Voss bought a 5-year-old call for $120. John Damholf had a shingling sheet last Wednesday.
