Fire wipes out Raymond business block in blaze
A Monday night fire in Raymond destroyed three buildings including Carl Henning general merchandise, Haima and Carl, H Stoll farm implement warehouse, and W E Harris meat market. The blaze, started by a kerosene lamp explosion, spread rapidly due to defective equipment and limited water supply. Total losses about 15000 with varied insurance. Willmar and local departments aided but could not save remaining structures.

Rev C Harmon Johnson of Willmar reports the death of his aged father David Sumner Johnson D D in National City California on Friday April 17 His remains will be taken to Chicago for burial at the old home with funeral set this week He was pastor of Markham Memorial church in National City and was known to Willmar friends who extend sympathy to survivors. The Willmar Seminary and High School played an opening baseball game at Athletic Park in a long two session match with Seminary edging High School 15 to 14 after a rain softened day. Umpire H E Campbell presided with a lively lineup display from both sides and a second game is planned for next Monday afternoon. Construction plans for a new ubopa facility are in progress as officials of the Great Northern division prepare a summer build. A damage suit by Martin J Peterson against the Great Northern for 1130 arises from alleged injuries in the roundhouse. Lars Erickson and Christina Anderson wed at Lake Lillian with Rev J O Lundberg performing the ceremony. A large guest list from Hankinson to Long Lake attended the celebration at the Erickson home and farm.

Great Northern Puget Sound Express cuts evening schedule
The Great Northern reduced the Puget Sound Express evening run by thirty minutes starting Sunday with a later St Paul departure but unchanged Seattle arrival. A new service between Breckenridge and LaMoure, ND supports the change, starting at 6 20 p m and reaching LaMoure at 10 50 p m. Return runs LaMoure at 7 00 p m to Breckenridge at 11 40 p m.
