Bethel Church Members Host Warm Carlson Hall Reception

W Lonn returned from Milner North Carolina where he observed a Willmarmade Little Oak tractor perform well in a field trial. Andrew Anderson purchased the machine and saw it plow ten inches deep with strong power and smooth passage through wet spots. Pretty Mallevig Baklund wedding at Eagle Lake home
A pretty home wedding occurred last Tuesday evening April 13 at the home of Mr and Mrs C A Baklund when their daughter Florence May married Chri Kallevig son of Mr and Mrs B Kallevig. The parlor was decorated with wedding bells and pink and white streamers. The bridal party entered to Lohengrin. The bride wore white crepe with messaline and lace, a veil and carried pink and white roses. Attendants wore white embroidered voile with pink and white carnations. The groom’s attendants were Leslie and Carroll Kallevig. A three course dinner followed for about sixty guests. The dining room had pink and white decor. The choir provided music and piano solos were played. Guests included many local families and friends. The bride has been organist at Eagle Lake church. groom works with Willmar Tractor and Manufacturing Co. They plan to live at 1209 Campbell Ave after May 1.

Deaths in Svea community and Nelson funeral in Svea
John A. Lindblad of Svea in Fahlun township died April 9 after a long illness. Born February 28, 1841 in Sweden he settled in America in 1883 and served as a Svea Lutheran deacon. Survived by wife Charlotta, five of seven children and three grandchildren. Funeral Sunday April 12 at Svea church with Rev. Ryden officiating. Mrs. A C Nelson’s funeral at Svea drew a large crowd with extensive floral tributes and many relatives present. Mrs. Annettle Swenson Nelson Sven born January 18, 1872.

Death ends long community service of Svea woman
Mrs Nelson Swenson of Svea died April 14 after two weeks of illness from heart trouble. She taught school in early years and after marriage ran a home where she welcomed many distinguished guests. Survived by husband Nelson, four children Zilphia Bert and Juniette at home, and four siblings. mother in Vancouver. The Svea community mourns her as a mother of the town.

In an April 1915 session the Willmar City Council ordered paid positions confirmed including Chief of Police C. Gilbertson and Night Patrolman Westgard. Appointments to City Attorney, Water and Light Commission, Street Commissioner and Board of Health were finalized along with park board and other municipal posts.
