Thirty boys will depart for Camp Dodge at 2:30 PM Saturday with fifteen more expected to travel to Columbus Barracks Ohio between May 1 and 6. The list of names includes Arthur Borg M L Atwater George Henry Ander Willard Loss and many others from Willmar Kerkhoven Spicer and surrounding communities. School bonds carried by 16 vote margin at special meeting
At the special school meeting last Friday evening 568 votes were cast on a $40,000 bond issue. 202 voted yes and 276 no, a majority against? of 16 in favor. The state levy will run at four percent, and if approved by the state authorities the Board of Education will have $135,000 for building plans.

Recruiting Drive In Willmar Seeks New Army Recruits
The United States Army recruiting agent will visit Willmar from April 17 to 24, 1918, to enlist men for all branches except Aviation and Cavalry. Skilled laborers and fighters are needed, with pay ranging from 20 to 130 dollars monthly. Ages 18 to 31 and 31 to 40 accepted. expenses paid on departure.
