Burglars Open Safe at Pennock
Floren and Benson's general store at Pennock was burglarized last night. The safe was forced open and a sum of cash taken, with entry through a side door and a hole in a panel. Noted as a neat job by the burglars, no goods appeared missing and the thieves escaped unseen. Sheriff Bonde was notified this morning.

Grace H Sperry daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert H Sperry married Orrin H Redfield son of Mr and Mrs William E Redfield of White Bear on Monday April 9 at the bride’s Porto Rico Street home. Rev W Bryn Jones officiated in a ceremony attended by immediate relatives with Elvira Wilson as bridesmaid and Bryan Sperry as groomsman. The living room was festooned with Easter lilies and tulips and a celebratory dinner preceded the ceremony. The newlyweds plan a Pacific coast wedding trip and will reside in Willmar where Redfield is a young engineer with the Great Northern.

Large State Institute funds approved by Senate Finance
A total of 371000 was appropriated for the Willmar State Asylum for the year ending July 31. Allocations include cottages, water system work, repairs, and improvements across 1918 and 1919. The plan moves the institution to an Insane Hospital status August 1 with use of one wing for harmless insane and patients until new cottages are built. The inebriate department remains separate.

Lyric Chorus Impressive Willmar Concert Debut
Gustavus Adolphus College Lyric Chorus will perform at Willmar Goers House on Tuesday April 17 under Willmar High School auspices.
