Rev G Johnson Speech at Willmar Liberty Loan Rally

The Liberty Loan rally at Willmar featured Rev Gustaf Johnson of Minneapolis as the speaker in an Opera House gathering led by a parade. Volunteers to Pittsburg depart for U S service training

The Willmar Commercial Club hosted a luncheon at the Savoy Cafe for 14 Kandiyohi County volunteers bound for training at Carnegie Technical School in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Speakers praised the mission and hopes for a safe return.

Rustic Romeo Reservations Changed for April 16

Public notice announces a revised reservation time for Rustic Romeo to be performed at the atre on Tuesday April 16. War Secretary John H Styles Jr Leaves Journal Post

Dr John H Styles Jr city editor of the Journal will depart Monday for Camp Funston Kansas to serve as a Y M C A war work secretary. He applied to the War Personnel Board and is expected to oversee religious social and possibly educational work at a YMCA building beginning April 10 in Camp Funston.

Explosion of Boiler at R H Great Northern Round House

A boiler room blast at the Great Northern round house last Friday night wrecked the west end of the building and damaged yard facilities. The stationary boiler exploded near midnight, throwing one man, Axel Gustafson, into a coal bin and injuring him slightly, while the whistle saved him from the main blast. The incident damaged the electric light plant, halted depot lights, and required extensive repairs. officials cite low water as the likely cause after a prior inspection.
