A Midnight Blaze Routs Johnsons Cash Supply House

A fire discovered on the second story of George W Johnsons store caused the upper floor to burn blackened ruins while water damage from four hours of firefighting ravaged the lower stock. Losses are estimated three to four thousand on the building and about five thousand on stock. bakery and groceries severely affected. Insurance covered the building and stock but not to full value. Mr Johnson resumed bread service by noon with nearby fruit store as distributing agent.

Arotandor notes visits and local beef sale

Peter Lundemoe of Wilm ar spent part of the week visiting relatives at this place. Edman Bros. sold a car load of beef to a Kerkhoven party for 850 dollars, about 42 dollars per head. The district has about 70 school age children and starts term next Monday with Miss Slattum of Lake Andrew as teacher. Snowflake, April 2.

Power plant accident fractures leg at work

Andrew Patchell suffered a leg fracture just below the knee while assisting with a large flywheel at the city power house. The wheel slipped from the crew and struck his leg, causing the injury last Thursday morning.

She was robust before illness and died a Christian with family and friends in mourning. Willmar Bank CD Theft Arrests Linked to Finnegan

A man named Finnegan, aided by Ike Emerson, allegedly forged Ole Carlson’s certificate of deposit after Carlson’s New London sale proceeds and a spree. The certificate was cashed before Finnegan fled Willmar, with a police alert sent to Minneapolis. Willmar authorities seek Finnegan described as 5 feet 6 inches, 150 pounds, dark hair, red face, dark clothes, black derby.
