Obituary Ants Monson of Willmar Died at Home

Mrs Helen Monson an early member of the Whitefield community and longtime Willmar resident died at her daughter and son in law’s home in this city on a Wednesday in March aged about TS years. Born December 4 1841 in Kristianstadslin Sweden she married Ven M Monson in 1866 and emigrated to America in 1869 landing at Vasa Minnesota on midsummer day.

Van Lear speaks to Willmar crowd at Masonic Temple

Former Minneapolis mayor Thomas Van Lear spoke at the Masonic Temple in Willmar last Friday, arriving late on the nine oclock train, addressing a packed audience about the farmer labor political movement in Minnesota. Willmar Bride and Hanscom Wedding 1920 Details

A long Willmar ceremony on April 3 1920 united Miss Florence Louise Kuntz with Harold Earl Hanscom at the O A Kuntz home. Rev J Renwick McCullough officiated at noon. The couple plans to reside in St Paul then Bemidji to enter pharmacy and drug business. Attendees included the Hanscom and Kuntz families with gifts and telegrams from others. The couple leaves for Minnesota soon.

Andrew Johnson Home Burns Down

Last Sunday a fire destroyed the Andrew Johnson farm home on Whitefield's section 31. The blaze started in the roof and was not noticed until it was well under way. Ransom Johnson rode to warn his father as the oldest son was ill and needed help escaping. The daughter saved 1300 in liberty bonds. little else of value was saved. The two story 28 by 30 building suffered an estimated 10 000 loss with scant insurance. This follows recent influenza losses that took two Johnson brothers Arthur and Russel, leaving the family in mourning and deserving public sympathy.

Teenager Arrested For Theft Of Diamond And Bonds

Glen Follette of Atwater was arrested in Willmar after stealing a diamond ring valued at about 500 to 600 and $600 in Liberty bonds from his father’s safety deposit box. He bought clothing with the proceeds and attempted to sell the ring. He is being held and later sent to Minneapolis for county charges. he was on parole for a prior offense. Christina Freeberg dies at 520 Second St. W. Funeral at Peterson's on Friday. County road construction notices warn merchants not to sell to Kandiyohi County Road Construction buyers without signed orders. Religious Education director to lead Sunday school conferences.
