Willmar No-License Victory Sets Record Dry Majority
The city backed a dry policy with an unprecedented margin of 158 votes, larger than the prior record. Supporters celebrated in wards two and three amid active campaigning by liquor interests and railroad workers, while Attorney Samuel Porter was re-elected city attorney and Lawson conceded. The Tribune notes railroad ties to the outcome and predicts continued conflict with the telephone trust and Northwestern railroad interests.
