Litchfield Social Rounds and Recitals Highlight Week

A flurry of social activity in Litchfield includes visits to cities by W H Greenleaf and many locals. A Housekeepers Club meeting discussed the annual Flower Show, with refreshments served, and a May 6 gathering planned. A St Agnes Guild recital drew a large crowd, featuring Miss Elizabeth McLaughlin, with many surrounding towns represented.

Willmar and Pennock church services listed for Sunday

In Swed Bethel and Luth Synod congregations, services are set for Sunday morning and afternoon with offerings for janitors. Norwegian and English services at Norwegian Lutheran in Willmar, with Sunday School at 12 15 pm and evening service at 7 30 pm. Holy Week communion scheduled for Thursday at Willmar, Good Friday communion at Solomon Lake, and Willmar services at 3 pm.

Willmar Interurban Plans and Local Outlook

Easter Programs Quietest for The P S of the Sw Luth Church

The Sw Lutheran Bethel Y P S offers an Easter program next Monday April 10 with a hymn audience scripture reading prayers pastor song and various recitations solos and duets. A second Y P S meeting is set for Wednesday April 12 at 8 pm with refreshments served. The Lath Free church P S and the Swedish Mission church also schedule upcoming programs with readings songs duets solos and addresses. A quiet Willmar election yesterday produced no contest and all caucus nominees were elected.

Obituary for Rev N Frykman 68 pastor and hymn writer

Rev N Frykman aged 68 died at 1:50 am after two months illness at 3033 Columbus Ave. He long served the Swedish Evangelical Covenant, on its executive board, came from Sweden in 1888, led Swedish Mission Tabernacle in Chicago, later led churches in Kandiyohi and Swift counties Minnesota. Born Oct 20 1842 in Sunne and educated as a teacher, he joined the free religious movement during revivals of 1876 77, later devoted to the church. Survived by widow and ten children including Hilma Anna Gustaf Andrew Oscar Natanael Carl Otto Paul Victor. Funeral Monday 2 pm at Swedish Tabernacle, interment Lakewood.

Dedication of the New Industrial School Building

The new Industrial building will be opened with a formal dedication on Thursday evening April 13 at the High School Auditorium. The program includes music, talks on local history, agricultural work, the future of Willmar High School, and a public exhibit of school work open 6:30 to 8:00. Admission is free and visitors may inspect displays Thursday evening through Saturday.

Monday Club Meet Honors Books and Luncheon

Monday afternoon the club, hosted by Mrs. W. D. Wiggins, enjoyed a meeting with reviews of Hamilton biography chapters by Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Porter. Hanscom spoke on A University Training Boys in Real Life from World's Work, reviewed by Mrs. Hanscom, followed by a yellow and white luncheon with daffodils. The treasurer reported, books were exchanged, and plans set for April 17 with reviews by Mrs. Hornbeck.

Reports from Lake Elizabeth dated April 3 note deaths and funerals, including Joseph Holmgren near Clifford and Alfred Lindblad at Becca Baptist church.
