Aged Resident Bengt Swalin Dies at 69 in Pirat Ward

Bengt Nelson Swalin died yesterday at about six in the morning at John Ostlund’s home in Pirat ward from asthma complications. He was born May 13 1835 in Skaane Sweden and came to Whit country in 1881 living at Solomon Lake before moving to town of Dovre and then the city. Survived by two daughters Mrs Aona Nelson and Miss Janeie and five sons Benjamin Olof Nels John and Fred. funeral Friday with services at home at two then Solomon Lake Synod church Rev Andersen officiating. Burial in adjoining cemetery beside wife who died three years ago. Burial place noted as the cemetery near Solomon Lake.

Willmar Juniors Form To Represent Local Baseball

Citizens' Independent Ticket Elected Without Opposition

Willmar voters elected an administration friendly to temperance by a large, unopposed margin. Death of Mary Lindh of Langley Minn

Mary Lindh wife of Rev Ole Lindh died of tuberculosis at 38 after months of illness. The funeral was held at Lake Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev P G Nelson officiating after services at her parents home, J Nels Johnson and wife. Burial at the local cemetery. She was born in Sweden and came to the United States as a child living in Lake Elizabeth. She left five children, ages 10 months to 18 years, plus her husband, parents, siblings, and other relatives. The Atwater Republic-Presa notes the death.

Willmar to Obtain Free Delivery Post Office Service

Willmar's post office receipts exceed ten thousand dollars in the fiscal year ending March. If conditions are met, free delivery may start by July 1 after an inspection and department report. Applicants for letter carrier jobs must pass Civil Service exams, be 18 to 45, weigh at least 125 pounds, and stand no taller than 5 feet 4 inches. Salaries begin at 600 yearly, rising to 650 with promotion after one year. Residents welcome the change after years without free delivery.
