Kandiyohi Bank Robbery Nets 1707.79 In Cash

A bank raid in Kandiyohi blew open the State Bank of Kandiyohi vaults early Monday morning, yielding 1707.79 in cash and various coins. The robbers, described as two young men, fled by hand car toward Willmar, while authorities -- including Sheriff Lundquist, County Attorney Otterness, and a Pinkerton detective -- pursued leads and broadcast notices across Minnesota. Insurance covers the loss. no local victims.

Willmar approves license ban in fifth straight dry year

City election results show a majority in Willmar supporting no license to sell intoxicants. The total votes were 874 with 18 abstentions, making the license yes vote exactly half of all ballots cast. Aldermen nominated included C Strand in the Fourth ward amid a dry city outlook.

Prisoner Iver Gram Jailed For Petit Larceny

Iver Gram, from Clarkfield, was brought from New London last Wednesday by Marshal Winblad to the county jail after pleading guilty to stealing a watch chair and ring from Christ Berg. He received ten dollars and ten days in jail as sentence, choosing jail time due to lack of cash. Gram had been part of the G. N. steam shovel crew and was captured in Hawick after the theft. The Presbyterian church annual meeting will be held next Tuesday at 7:30 pm with elections for elders and trustees and year-end reports. the Men's League will provide a supper afterward.
