Willmar Commercial Club pledges support for public rest room
At a Willmar Commercial Club meeting last night the group pledged to fund the public rest room for another year if the city appropriates 120 and other funds are secured. The Housekeeper’s club cannot contribute the 120, and last year the club donated 260. Over 700 visitors used the rest room in two months. A committee was formed to study the upcoming school building funding election and publish findings.

Yard Hostler Badly Scalded In Engine Incident
Charles E. Adams hostler and Theodore Wright were on a passenger engine from Sioux City when a leaking stay bolt blew out as workers tried to adjust it. Adams suffered severe facial and ankle burns and was taken to Bethesda Hospital. Wright escaped with a forehead cut and facial burn. Gloves protected their hands.

Fourteen will be chosen to fill the quota and will go to Carnegie School of Technology in Pittsburgh to train as mechanics for aero squadrons. Prof. Henrich Gunnerson of Minneapolis will give a concert at the Lutheran Free church on Thursday evening April 11 at eight o'clock with a program featuring Haydn, Cappelen, and Lohr among others. Arnold Gandrud Honored Before Enlistment Farewell
Sunburg residents hosted a surprise farewell for Arnold Gandrud as he prepares to enlist in the army. At the home of Hon. and Mrs. P. A. Gandrud a program featured singing, remarks by A. J. Syse and others, and a money remembrance presented by Rev. Sotendahl. Refreshments followed as locals toasted a hometown boy leaving for service. Staff and friends later attended a Kandiyohi surprise party for Hawkinson and Hoglund relatives, presenting a money purse in memory of the visit.
