War Tank Arrival Promised for Willmar Tuesday

County Victory Loan officials announce a government war tank will reach Willmar on Tuesday afternoon April Sth. Odell directs the day long appearance with a route sheet and a countywide advertising push. A program at the Court House yard will feature speakers and a community rally to drum up support for the drive.

Mrs Caroline Selvig dies after stroke at 714 Seventh Street South. Funeral planned at Bethel Lutheran Church with services at home and church. She was born 1851 in Sweden and emigrated with family in youth, leaving four sons and daughters, including Edwin Walter Victor and Harriet Wickstrom, plus four grandchildren. Other items include a wedding at 115 West Litchfield, Hilda Josephine John son and Edward Sletten wed with reception and trip to St Paul Minneapolis and Cassel. Evangelist opens campaign at Aldrich Tabernacle

The evangelistic campaign led by Rev. A. Lee Aldrich opened Sunday night to over fourteen hundred attendees at Aldrich Tabernacle corner Trott Ave and Fourth St. The event features a large choir an orchestra and a Saxophone trio with Miss Marie Ackerlund joining April 5 for Farmers Night. Tuesday is Patriotic Night and Wednesday Baptist Night with delegates from Willmar area churches attending. Sunday April 6 marks Sunday School Day with a parade planned by town and outside schools joining the city church processions.

Pederson Son Arrives in New York for Camp Meade

Christ Pederson received word that his son Sgt. S. Russell Pederson had arrived safely at Hoboken New York last Monday and would depart for Camp Meade. Pederson joined the first contingent to leave Willmar in September 1917. Miss Myrtle Miller returned from St Paul to spend spring vacation at home.

Willmar high seniors stage the comedy All of a Sudden Peggy at the Willmar Opera House Friday evening with a sold out capacity crowd. Accident Victima Recovering In City

Friends of Walter Hanscom and Chas Hillstrom report they are recovering satisfactorily from injuries suffered in a prior auto accident in St Paul. Licenses list March 29 Allen Metcalf to Eljen Erickson and March 31 Edward Sletten to Hilda Josephine Johnson.

Train No 10 wreck near Pennock and Delano

Reported wrecks involve passenger No 10 near Pennock and another eastbound No 10 at Delano. No fatalities, many injured but quickly treated. Causes unclear with reports of broken rail and broken wheel. Route disruptions minimal as trains resumed with replacements and hospital aid dispatched from Willmar and Benson.

Next Tuesday election on ballot in Wormar city race

The city caucus last week placed nomine es on the ballot for next Tuesday’s Wormar city election. Ward two candidates N A Jenson Bjornberg and Hans filed for rear io slection, Ing contest for city clerk. Court notes report six jury cases and several continuances with verdicts in a few civil matters and paroles. Carryover cases include Borg vs Arthur Wolbers and Hale vs Larson with sizable sums. War veterans from Wilmar returned from France after a year abroad. The auditor’s son underwent appendectomy in critical but improving condition. Local businesses Craiger Bros opened shop on son Ave. District meetings in Benson drew Holmquist and Sorenson. Elmer Odell expected home soon from training with military service. Kjos left for Renville on business.

Red Cross Workers Urged to Complete Questionnaires for Rewards

The article notes only two county women have filled out work questionnaires for Red Cross service rewards. Many are entitled to a handsome service plan. blanks are at Red Cross Headquarters. An allotment of knitting and sewing is set for completion by April 15, with yarn and sewing distributed on Wednesdays and Fridays. Boy Is Shot In Accidental Family Tragedy

A one year old, Harold F. Vail, was mortally wounded by an accidental revolver discharge in the hands of his older brother at the F. H. Vail home 1009 Old Ave last Monday afternoon. He died four hours later at Davison Hospital. Harold, born September 1 1906 at Willmar, was a Lafayette school pupil. He leaves parents, three brothers Irving Clarence Everett and Mary, two sisters, and is survived by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C Hennings. Funeral set for Thursday at St Luke's Church with Rev F H Ochler officiating. Pallbearers named Arthur Struxness Carl Nelson Alvin Westgard and Chas Frost. The community offers sympathy.
