Receipts of grain range cattle were liberal with 1407 lb native steers fetching 5.00. Native feeders 955 to 1107 lb sold 4.10 4.25, cows 2.90 3.50. For John Engbretson and Ole Christensen buyers in Halliday N C high values reported. Sheep and lambs saw lighter receipts but higher prices with fat wethers 3.75 4.00 and choice lambs 5.25 5.50. Our sales included 1500 fat lambs 5.50 and 1200 fat lambs 5.25 plus 400 yearlings 4.25 and 400 ewes 3.50.
Wheelock announces Fair view as the latest addition to its booming development. Lots are on the market at fair prices with promoter Mr. Stensrud reporting strong sales. Various locals report daily activity, from threshing on Snyder farm to business visits by Lofgren Bros and Grand Forks Mercantile Co. county residents note the mild snow loss and a promising flax crop.
E A Sharp plans a new feed mill adjoining the courthouse to grind all kinds of feed for farmers and others. The mill will run on a ten horsepower gasoline engine and is expected to process about 50 bushels per hour. Operations expected to start in about one week to ten days.
