Farmers Disappointed As Government Horse Sale Fails
Hundreds of farmers gathered in Williston with surplus horses intended for government sale only to be told by Captain Skaag of Kansas City that the ad did not mean direct government purchases. Montana buyers with a large contract were involved, and only ten horses passed inspection before the sale was halted. Captain Skaag defended his action citing lack of direct government pricing and authority from Fort Keogh. County Agent E W Hall and promoter E Connor attempted to salvage the situation with a state department inspection, but most horses were turned back.

Engine blast devastates Wolf Point yards. two killed
A serious locomotive explosion in Wolf Point's yards killed Engineer Pitman and Pireman Schafer and critically injured a student fireman and a brakeman. The blast destroyed the engine and shattered nearby areas as townspeople rushed to the scene.

Miner Killed in Williston Coal Mine Accident
Coroner reports M. Selzert age about 50 died Monday evening in the Williston Coal and Tee Company mine four miles northeast of the city after a fall from the tipple to the shaft bottom. He was severely mangled and died before reaching the bottom. No witnesses. workers found him after the fall. The coroner urged additional top shaft protection and Selzert had worked in the region for years with relatives reportedly in Paynesville Ohio.

Three men plea guilty in quick court showing
