Williams County Teachers Institute Announced

Public instruction officials announce a Williams County rural and village schools teachers institute in Williston with free tuition, transportation and board options. Sessions begin Monday October 12 at 10:00 and 1:30 with two daily periods. Texts required from teachers and courses align with state standards. A reception and lectures by prominent educators are planned. The notice also notes the Fargo Forum manager H. C. Plumley’s accident at the irrigation congress in Ogden Utah last month.

Reorganization and Departures Hit Local School Girls Team

The young ladies basketball team was reorganized last week with new members to replace those who left town. Miss Benton and Miss Bells Leonhardy will not return as they plan to study in Minneapolis. A rival team of school girls, Rose Valley, is being discussed. Mr and Mrs Alex Miller returned to Henry Co Missouri after visiting their daughter Mrs W P Thornton, bringing vegetable and grain specimens to show North Dakota’s abundance. Albert McAllister moved his family to Williston to educate his daughters. Kinman of Wisconsin bought Tommy Argenbright and Thos Andrews claims. Argenbright departs from the vicinity and John Smith, who worked on a ranch in Montana, visited his sister Ida Westbrooke. Charlie Truen and crew thresh the crop quickly and well with praise for their performance.
