A Loved One Laid to Rest in Kensal Cemetery
On September 25 Mrs Rebecca Barnes learned of the death of Esra Bertram who died in a barn fire near Kensal on September 23 nine days earlier. Bertram and Adam Hammerly perished as the blaze consumed the loft. The funeral for Bertram was held September 26 at the M E church with Rev Stinton officiating. Bertram, born May 15 1874 in Liberty Wisconsin, left a mother and brother in Grant County and was remembered as generous and unselfish.
