Play Day Draws Williams County Students To County Seat
About 300 people attended a county Play Day at the State Experiment Station as Williston schools and area clubs hosted a picnic and patriotic parade. Delegations from Tioga and other towns joined in drills, athletic events, and a large car parade with more than 200 autos. Winners tailed across boys and girls events in groups A to E, led by Williston participants in sprints, jumps, and relays.

Memorial Day Observances Honor Veterans in Williston
Memorial day exercises drew a large Williston crowd despite ongoing war concerns. A ceremony at the Armory led to a procession to the cemetery where floral wreaths honored fallen soldiers. veterans from the rebellion and Spanish American War were represented, with Company E guards giving a salute at Comrade Space’s grave. News came that William Mott, a lifelong Memorial Day participant, had died that morning, with his funeral set for tomorrow.

Rev Batten Resigns From Williston Congregational Church
Rev James Hoffman Batten, pastor of the Williston Congregational church, announced his resignation to the congregation on Sunday and asked to be relieved from his charge in the fall.
