Boundaries of Williams County School Districts Set in 1896
Williams County officials met in Williston on May 4 1896 to redraw and establish school district boundaries. The Willis ton special district includes territory west of the Little Muddy River from the forks north to county line. Stony Creek district covers area east of that line up to ranges 8 and 99 and along 13 miles of railroad. Nelson district comprises territory east of Stony Creek up to a northern boundary near D Folson's ranch, including 13 miles of railroad.
