False alarm as sheriff misidentifies suspect
Sheriff answering a 1 am Ep singing call found it custody said to be Charley Peltier, who escaped the state penitentiary February 24. It proved to be mistaken identity and the sheriff returned home empty handed. Peltier, a half-breed Indian, was convicted in Cavalier county for a double murder.

Good Roads Fund Distributes 1914 Vehicle Fees Nationwide
Secretary of State Thomas Hall reports distributing 50 245 77 to the good road funds across 52 counties in 1914 based on county motor vehicle and motorcycle registrations. Total 1914 vehicle registrations stood at 17 347 cars and 1 265 motorcycles with net receipts after expenses. Escaped convict Peltier captured near Garrison
Charles Peltier, sentenced to life for murder, surrendered without resistance to F. W. McGray and Dr. E. C. Stucks after a February escape.
