Moorman visited from Portal to observe court. Folsom’s illegal branding case was withdrawn. Gamache summoned from Nelson for extra affidavit. Parish notices and church services listed. court adjourned Wednesday night. judge Morgan and stenographer Taylor returned to Devils Lake. Several locals attended court including Gus Carey Moff Parrett and Buford visitors. The Guy Martin verdict found guilty with one year and three months at Bismarck. Denney bought a house. new baby boy born to Al Maderson and wife. a baby girl welcomed to Barnfuther home. Bank and exchange notes tied to Williams County State Bank. Frank Kaste returned after tonsil operation. plans to Alma Wisconsin trip noted.
Judge Morgan heard the O M Dean case against Grinnell School District and took it under advisement. Williston hosts an active week with bonds, entertainments, and stockmen visiting. trains tax revenue from the Great Northern improves school warrants and local finances.
Examination of candidates for teachers certificates will be held in Courton North Dakota starting Friday March 10, 1809 at 9 o'clock for two days. FF J Watnos, County Superintendent. Parties with forestry or salt certificates or other fur items will find a cash claim by exiting on Madison city maritial of Willis ton.

The term calendar was the largest yet in Williams County with six criminal and two civil cases. Notable items include State v Guy Martin and State v Dewey, the latter noting a jail escape. Social events include a Thimble Party hosted by Mrs. C A Wittmeier and a Nation guessing contest where nations provided clues ending with nation. Winners received a belt and nemcore prize. booby prize went to Mrs. F H Van Dyke.
