Williston Draws Newcomers From Towner and Montana

Tra H. Starks and son Archie arrived in Williston from Towner by team seeking a new location after touring Morse river country. He favors Williams county for stock and agriculture but finds his Mouse River site near Towner timbered and unsuitable for stock. John L. Clements and wife with two children visited Williston en route home on Mouse River after seven to eight months in Montana for health. They travel overland with about 100 head of horses and a mess wagon. Jack Clements has largely recovered his health.

Dévile Lake Chautauqua Assembly July 1 18

The Dévile Lake Chautauqua Assembly runs July 1 to 18 in North Dakota. It offers lectures concerts and platform exercises in a landscaped lakeside setting with steamers to Fort Totten and a large hotel under new management. Millinery closing sale and mare notice near Williston

Ladies are urged to visit Miss Nellie Whitcomb before July 4 to shop or have hats trimmed as she plans closing her millinery business for the summer and traveling east after the holiday. Also a June 15 notice offers a black mare, about 9 or 10, on a Williston ranch, branded on left shoulder and left side, for owner to prove property, pay charges, and claim.
