June Home Wedding Brings Quiet Madison Ceremony

Julia Morris daughter of W A P Morris marries Joseph W Jackson son of Dr. and Mrs. J A Jackson at the Morris home in Langdon Street Madison on June 12 1901 in a simple ceremony officiated by Rev. John Wilkinson. Relatives from Milwaukee Chicago St Paul New York and other cities attended. The couple plans a weeklong trip then settle near Nelson New York while Jackson manages a ranch. The event drew social notice within the university town and Alpha Delta Gamma Phi and Phi Delta Theta members attended the informal reception.

New Millinery Move Sparks Local Business Boost

Mrs Handley will move her millinery stock into James Heffernan's Main Street building to continue in business. Dressmaking will also be done there. The community ball celebrating the move drew the largest crowd yet, with student essays, music, and addresses marking the graduation of several local students. Prof George A McFarland of Valley City spoke. diplomas were conferred by Judge Leonhardy. Rev F C Emerson gave the benediction.

Quiet School Election Ends With Unopposed Ticket

Williston voters cast 73 ballots last Tuesday with no opposition to Grat's ticket. Charles Baldwin received 3 year support, M. G. Markell 3 years, and J. W. Snider 1 year. A few disgruntled individuals voted for third parties, but the outcome pleases education advocates and promises continued harmony in the board of education.

Visitors from Eight Mile report water supply adequate

W J Doyle and M E Curry of Eight Mile visited this place early in the week and said they have water enough and to spare on their claims at present. A grey horse, about seven years old, with diamonds branded on left thigh and shoulder, strayed last fall. A liberal reward is offered for its return to Ore Burn in Williston, North Dakota, May 6, 1901. Also three mares strayed around May 7, 1000: a bay mare with 6 dot on right shoulder, ears slit. a sorrel mare colt two years old with wagon red brand on left hip. a sorrel mare branded X on thigh and A on right shoulder. Ten dollar reward for information leading to recovery.

Fourth of July Celebration and Local Auctions

A community event schedule lists music by Hoflland Band, school songs, speeches, and races including Morse and pony races. A dancing pavilion will be built. refreshments are free. Household items and a phaeton are for sale by Mrs. Mary Newell. Also notice of George Purvis selling out Williston townsite lots at First National Bank of Williston.
