Oriental Limited Derailed Near Moorhead Killing Engineer
The Great Northern Oriental Limited No 1 derailed about a mile east of Moorhead Sunday evening while speeding to regain time. Engineer Frank French of Barnesville died. Fireman Nick Becker of Grand Forks injured. several passengers hurt. The engine jumped the track and toppled, burying its nose in earth after ripping cars from the line.

Drowning Death of William Brownlee at Sand Creek
William Brownlee, 22, drowned while swimming near the Sand Creek mouth west of the city on Friday evening. His companion W B Cormany and several youths attempted rescues. Cormany and his son eventually recovered the body. Brownlee, a blacksmith by trade from Boschel Wisconsin, had been in Williston about two weeks and was employed by Coulter and Cormany. His family was notified and the body to be sent home for burial.

New Chattel Mortgage Law Requires Witnesses and Receipts
A new chattel mortgage law mandates mortgagors sign in the presence of two witnesses who sign as witnesses.
