A yard accident slowed No. 2 as it moved to meet a passenger engine. Engine 1429 derailed two freight cars and damaged the lead locomotive while three cars suffered partial damage. Two cars carried railway ties and lumber. no injuries reported.

The North Dakota Editorial Association arranged entertainment for its August 5th and 6th meeting at the First National Bank. A. J. Bessie will lead the barbecue. Automobile owners are asked to lend cars for editor use during the two days, with drivers delivering visitors to desired locations.
The Tioga area school district reports a new 20 by 24 foot schoolhouse with a vestibule and porch. It is plastered and painted, enhancing local educational facilities.

Branching Out Tioga Farmers Telephone Co has been busy this spring and summer installing an up to date system in town and extending lines south connecting twenty new subscribers. Northward outreach toward McGregor will begin immediately to improve farmer and shipper access with Tioga as the nearby point.
A well known Minot young woman, returning home from a dance at Spring Park lake, fell into a twelve foot deep sewer trench in the fashionable district. She waited in darkness for hours until she crawled out after 2:30 this morning with only slight injuries. Efforts to keep the incident secret continue.
Dispatch from Winnipeg reports O. C. Bottger of Ray, champion with 145 hits out of 160, placing second in the amateur class while toppled by several amateurs who outshot professionals. Bottger earned multiple trophies in the trap shooting tournament.

Williston al V Saffole and wife visit the city to inspect irrigated district land as a favorable investment. They traveled by car from Hillsboro and plan to buy land before leaving, praising Williston over other areas. They stay at the Great Northern hotel.
At the American Womans League meeting in the Methodist church eight plans for league improvement were reviewed and one considered forming the league into a stock company. New members joined and the building site committee gained additions while awaiting a report. Mrs. Chas Mansfield presided and Miss Todd was secretary.
At a Monday night city council meeting the special enumerator George Sunderhaus presented a population count of 5126 for Williston. He said the figure is absolutely correct though some temporary residents may have been counted, with others present when they were away.
N G Wegner of Grand Forks debuts Mimmir a magazine named for an old Norse giant who guards memory. The issue targets Scandinavian readers and aims to foster cross racial understanding. The first number is creditable with readable, well printed contents.

He noted fair crops and a fine ruin as well as several new structures including a drug store, a bank, bank safe and office fixtures, and two new doctors joining the community.
The Threshers Supply company of Williston reports season sales of threshing rigs to Edward Carr of Buford Ed Davis west of town four miles and Z F Winbigler of Alexander for a Russell separator and engine with several other deals under way.
In a July 18 1910 Commercial Club meeting directors urged all citizens to begin a general wholesome cleanup Monday morning next. They warned of unsanitary spots and fever cases as the city prepares to host visiting editors, stressing public health and civic pride.
At a recent Methodist Sunday school board meeting R. H. Penney was confirmed as superintendent. S. L. Brown became assistant superintendent, Mrs H. A. Squires secretary, and Miss Vera Seeley treasurer. The group aims to reorganize to boost attendance and usefulness, seeking more volunteer teachers.
The Rawson Hardware Company sold threshing rigs to A. A. Keer of Alexander Isaac Decker and Joseph Faber of their city and Rank Hanks of McKenzie County. The notice hints at a likely grain threshing season this year.
