County Board Adjourns and Appoints New Commissioner
In a January 1898 meeting the board elected Wm. Loughland to fill the vacancy in the 3d district after Nelson declined. Loughland qualified as commissioner, Gaines named chairman, and officers for road districts and elections were appointed. Various bills, reports, and appointments followed, with adjournments through January 7.
