Adolf Mockel was arrested this week on an assault charge. he waived exam and was bound over to district court. Charley Field traveled to Culbertson for work on Steve Marmon’s building and may return by Sunday as Marmon plans to open a saloon in Mantigo. At Mrs Balts’ ranch, a marriage was performed by Judge Leonimady on Dec 25, 188. Henry H. Butta and Hattie K. Allen wed. M. E. Church services and a morning sermon on Christ’s life followed by an evening talk on the possibilities of our lives. A surprise sixteenth birthday party honored Mx. Clara Nolaon at the MacKersie home. Prof. E. R. Brownson and Rev. J. H. Hijerland traveled to White Earth on a matrimonial errand. more details in next column. Flag Salutes and Military Parade Planned at Noon
A joint meeting of U S and military commissioners settled that at noon flags will be exchanged and guns fired to honor the Spanish flag. At 12 o'clock Spanish colors rise over public buildings and Morro while the American flag is raised. Spanish artillery at Cabanas fortress salutes the U S flag. Troops will parade in barracks with salutations. Also Judge Amidon in a rail rate case has filed a decision for the state.
