Minot Woman Seriously Wounded by Rifle Accident
Mrs. W. E. Byerly of Velva was seriously wounded when her 16 year old son Russell accidentally discharged a 22 caliber rifle as she stood at the kitchen entry. The bullet perforated the abdomen and lodged in the right hip. She was transported to Minot for surgery. doctors expect recovery though risk remains from blood poisoning. Russell had been unloading shells. the hammer slipped as the rifle discharged.
