The Brooklyn Citizen reports decorating homes with multiple rooms all in one color, often green, using varying tones and textures. decorators stress harmony with floors and rugs, prefer plain walls or tapestry-like papers, and note washable tile-glazed papers for bathrooms and kitchens to maintain sanitary surfaces.
Prince Henry of Prussia narrowly passed a slow farm wagon near Kiel after his chauffeur failed to move the horse drawn obstacle. The farmer branded him a blockhead, and the prince offered a five dollar reward to the first man who called him that name. The incident and a jab about a piano as an instrument of torture bookend a column noting Mrs. Helen Beach Jones’s continued welfare plans in Toledo.

The three masted schooner Montana capsized or foundered off Norfolk Virginia with one crew member frozen to death as of December 13. The vessel, under Captain, is reported total loss and the surviving crew are being accounted for.
A Hamsey county man was injured by a rifle bullet a mile away from where the gunfire occurred. Officials investigated the incident and secured the scene while medical responders treated the injured man.
