Grammar Department Prepares for Term’s Test Day

Henghe McGrew was absent due to illness. Alfred Comfascum called this week in Miss Leonhardy’s room. Henry Newton missed school for broken glasses. The Grammar Department collected seven dollars for their picture. New dictionaries and Evanline copies arrived for students. Christusa presente prep by Miss Leonhardy’s scholars. An 1900 correspondence from J. G. Breowy praises the Big Block Show in Chicago as surpassing the World's Fair in magnificence and spectacle. He notes beef prices at 15 cents per pound, a short-horn cow and calf priced at 40, and a fine shorthorn bull at 61.50, reporting visitors from the U S, Canada, and abroad and plans to return to the Missouri river ranch after witnessing the grand event.
