Williston welcomed by Grand Forks Commercial Club visitors

The Grand Forks Commercial club visited Williston arriving about 3 am after Mondak. A committee of eleven Williston businessmen escorted the group as over a hundred Williston citizens hosted them. The party praised Williston's streets water works prospects and growth potential noting land filings and new facilities along with Williston’s irrigation ventures and a recent commercial club.

High school course reorganized to meet state standards. growth allows grade division for better work. City officials, teachers, and patrons anticipate a vigorous year and continued progress.

Appeal for samples of grains and grasses for state exhibition

On August 9 a letter from State Commissioner Gilbrath urged William County farmers to send grain and grass samples for a state exhibition. J W Jackson has solicited farmers, but only three samples have arrived. Send samples about half a bundle in size to the Williston Land Company office for county credit and free advertising value.

Tramps Suspected in Head Injury Death on Train

The victim suffered a heavy blow to the back of the head. Authorities believe tramps may be responsible and detectives from the Great Northern are pursuing the case, determined to find the guilty party.

Hunting Season Opens Saturday

The hunting season opens Saturday as local hunters prepare. The shotgun has been cleaned and tested, and Sport the dog is on short rations to stay fit for the hunt. The city will be deserted, and powder usage is expected to be cautious.

Mayor Greenleaf, of Minot, visited Williston on Friday and spoke at the Graphic office. He praised the townsite location and rapid growth, predicting Williston will become one of North Dakota's leading cities in a few years.

Bath Rooms Planned at Antiseptic Barber Shop

Professor Gordon proprietor of the Antiseptic barber shop buys three fine bath tubs and is installing a first class bath room connected with the shop. The bath rooms will be ready in a few days and the Professor will be kept busy making change.
