Soo Depot Fire Destroys Building and Household
About three o clock Saturday the Soo depot burned completely after an upstairs fire started in the home of agent Gollay and his family. He suspects a gasoline mix up with kerosene caused a rapid flash and explosion. Mrs. Gollay escaped down a window as the hose cart saved most of the freight shed and platform. The couple lost all furniture and clothing, insured for $500. The depot suffered total loss.

Minot Yard Accident Claims Life of Brakeman Keller
A derailment in the Great Northern yards at Minot last Sunday morning killed William Keller a noted brakeman. He was struck by a moving train while assisting with train formation and died at Minot hospital after severe injuries. Also noted are sealed bids for a Muddy Creek bridge near Williston North Dakota due August 1897 with specifications on file and bid rejection rights reserved.
