Grass Twine From Grass Binds National Grain Harvest
The United States leads in grain production and relies on an automatic binder aided by grass based twine. Grass from Wisconsin and Minnesota marsh lands is processed through combing spinning weaving and winding to produce twine for binders and mats. The system yields twine about three sixteenths of an inch thick and 250 feet per pound.
