Warren County Fair Set for Sep 18 21 at Elm Grove Farm
The fourth Warren County fair will run September 18 to 21 at Elm Grove Farm three miles north of Williamsport Indiana. Exhibits include horses cattle hogs sheep poultry and club work with a larger premium list aimed to include every exhibitor. Activities include hog and horseshoe tournaments and a big barbecue with a national speaker on Farmers Day. Attica and Williamsport will host events with a focus on inviting county farmers stockmen and outside exhibitors to showcase the best local produce and livestock.

Aged Pine Village Resident John Whitehead Dies
John Charles Whitehead aged 79 died at 6 15 Monday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs Edgar Van Meter in Pine Village from pneumonia and other ailments. Born February 2 1844 at Mount Carmel Indiana he farmed in Tippecanoe county and was active in democratic circles serving one term as Wayne township trustee. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Masonic lodge survived by widow and nine children and a half sister with 25 grandchildren and six great grandchildren Funeral services were held at West Point M E church with Masonic ritual at West Point cemetery.

The little patrons theater at the Williamsport Library basement drew a well attended audience Tuesday evening. Car Burns Near Judyville After Ditch Escape
Maxwell touring car owned by Mr and Mrs John McDonald of Attica caught fire near Judyville Friday while returning from Chicago. Blinding headlights from an approaching car caused Mr McDonald to veer into a ditch and overturn. Mrs McDonald lost a necklace and diamond ring. a match lit to search sparked a gas explosion. Car was almost totally destroyed and there was no insurance.

Sheriff Narrowly Escapes After Road Collision
Sheriff Dutcher and Walter Brutus escaped serious injury when their cars collided at a road crossing near West Lebanon just after dawn last Friday. Dutcher, traveling north, and Brutus from the east both showed speed. Dutcher swerved and braked frantically to avoid a worse crash. The area sedan suffered heavy damage.
