Two Deaths Reported in Local Community
Sarah Jane Simpson died after a weeklong typhoid illness at age twelve on Tuesday night near Judyville. Funeral services were held at Howard church Parke County and burial followed in Ephlin cemetery. Mrs David Foster died at her Old Town home after years of illness. She leaves six children Albert Edward Harry Ella Sailors Ida Worley and Susie Sailors. Funeral services were held at her home with burial in Highland cemetery.

George Willett a Fountain county farmer south of Attica was badly injured when his clothing caught in a gasoline engine. His garments tore away exposing groin injuries and medical aid from Dr Pugh was summoned. Recovery prognosis remained uncertain.

A Benton county sheriff reports arrest in Chicago of Boyd Slayter a salesman of disinfectant and floor varnish. He is accused of robbing the Daniel Messner store in Oxford three weeks prior of silk and merchandise valued at 2500 dollars. Slayter supposedly stayed in Oxford the night of the robbery and has since vanished. Authorities traced him to Lafayette Indianapolis and Chicago seeking requisition papers. C. M. Stewart travels to Chicago to aid identification.
