New Engine and Generator to Upgrade City Plant
Plans laid for installation of a new engine and 120 KVA three phase generator to boost water and light plant capacity. Superintendent Bert Scott reports the old equipment is worn and the upgrade will increase output to about 302 horsepower and improve efficiency. Installation expected by July with timing to pull pumping station and add motor power for day load.

Memorial Day program in Williamsport at county courthouse
Carl Mehaffey will speak at 2:00 PM in the Williamsport county courthouse to observe Memorial Day. The program includes songs, invocations, recitations by Mrs. Jason Bowlus and Gem Schoonover, a quartet, and a benediction, honoring veterans and the fallen.

Court Hears Howarths Case for New Trial and Asset Sale
The term closed with only minor trials and no grand jury. Judge overruled the motion for a new trial in Howarths vs Lake Erie Western after two juries sided with the plaintiffs, totaling 2000 in damages. The May partition case appointed John James as commissioner to manage sale of 100 acre Warren township land.
