The Williamsport school presents an evening program in the auditorium with grades from first to high school. Admission is ten cents. Performances include Salute to the Flag, songs ranging from The Lord is My Shepherd to A Warrior Bold, and a High School chorus lineup featuring both boys and girls.
Charles Hazel a Pine township trustee elected last fall resigned citing lack of time. Auditor Stephens appointed Annie Alexander last week to fill the vacancy.

Sheriff Olimer Stewart and Deputy Sam Frame were called to Mrs. Elizabeth Hewitt’s home in Rainsville to take Ernest Hewitt 29 to jail after a March 1919 onset of mental illness. An inquest found him of unsound mind and he is to be sent to an institution likely in Indianapolis. He had served in the Army over two years and previously refused hospital treatment. He believed he was an inventor and feared patent theft, leading to threats against his family.
A gray mule owned by Earl Pugh, a local drayman, died after its right hind shoe cropped the choke-strap on its halter, catching and breaking its neck. The incident occurred Saturday night with the animal found injured Sunday morning and dead by Monday morning, a behavior some horsemen deem not unusual for mules.
Edwin Cronk traveled to Indianapolis yesterday to take the final enlistment examination for the Navy. He passed the Lafayette recruiting station exam on Wednesday and aims to achieve a good grade on the final test.
Notice to Precinct Committeemen of Warren county calls a 2 p.m. meeting at the Williamsport courthouse on Saturday May 31 to nominate and elect a county chairman to fill the unexpired term of the late Malcolm M. McDonald.
Commencement exercises at Pine Village High School featured a class address by Prof. Moran of Purdue University. Six graduates were Floy Foster Florence Warbritton Louise Wagner Delores Kiger Walter Clawson and Ralph Eberly.
The Maccabee lodge held memorial services at the MFE church last Sunday. Members gathered at the hall then marched to the church where Rev. John S. McCloud delivered a memorial sermon praising the order. In the afternoon the West Lebanon band led a procession to the cemetery for decorating per order ritual.
Miss Maggie Ogle daughter of Mr and Mrs George Ogle of West Lebanon died at 6 30 a m Friday after a lingering illness She was 38 funeral services were held at the residence at 2 o clock Sunday afternoon with burial in West Lebanon cemetery.
Charles Reiff went to Lafayette on Wednesday and entered the Home hospital for an operation expected to occur at 9 o clock this morning. His many friends here wish him a speedy recovery.
Mrs. Emeline Blackburn reports her son Hanson has left the em barkation camp in France and expects to arrive in the United States soon.
The Green Hill high school will hold its first commencement next Wednesday night with three graduates Lenis Feigle William Weigle and Oscar Weigle receiving diplomas. Purdue University professor Dr Thomas Moran will address the common school commencement on democracy and education. Music by Williamsport high school orchestra directed by Miss Edith Thomson. The four year commission and leadership by trustee William Davis and Miss Margaret Sewell highlighted the effort to establish a commissioned high school with five teachers and modern facilities. The events span a junior senior banquet a baccalaureate sermon at the U B church and the final exercises at the U B church with graduates including Eugene Sheaf Lola McGahan Naoma Bowyer Elsie Arvidson Lula M Johnston and Clara Shamp from Warren township.
The Home Hut reception list for the girls banquet is postponed awaiting better weather. Patrons and patrons ses to be named next week. For inclusion, contact Miss Emily Boyd Miss Mary Johnson or Mrs. Joe Lewis. The banquet occurs at the new Community Hall on Thursday June 12.
