A late evening joyride ended when a six cylinder Oakland plunged off a fifteen foot embankment near Old Town on the Attica and Williamsport road. John C. Metzger died. Genevieve and Claristine Smith and Clint Anderson were injured. An inquest noted Metzger lacked a license and Anderson faced obstruction before giving details.

Obituary: Local Resident Metzger Laid To Rest At St Boniface
Metzger formerly of Lafayette who worked at the Central Milk depot in Lafayette passed away recently. He was a St Boniface school graduate and highly esteemed by friends. He leaves his parents five brothers and four sisters. The body was shipped to Lafayette Sunday morning at 11 41 and funeral services were held at St Boniface church Tuesday morning at 9.

Ford Car Stolen In Lafayette Theft Case
Robert Kerr of the east of Attica reported his Ford touring car stolen from in front of the Lahr hotel in Lafayette last Sunday night. Ora Newkirk is jailed in Lafayette on theft charges after taking the car at 11 15 PM and driving to Dayton and back with another man. They abandoned the car near the Lafayette Country Club but were arrested minutes later by police. Newkirk, a soldier at Camp Grant, admitted he was absent without leave.
