Mrs Walter Mathis Dies After Third Stroke In Williamsport
Mrs. Walter Mathis died Tuesday morning in Williamsport after a third paralytic stroke. Her long service to the community included choir work at Williamsport Methodist Church and membership in Eastern Star G A R Circle and Daughters of Rebecca. She leaves a husband Paul, a son, and a sister in Oxford.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon by Pastor Rev Babbs. Interment followed in Highland cemetery.

Death of William A. Rodbertus Near Winthrop
William A. Rodbertus died Sunday at his home near Winthrop from dropsy after a lengthy illness. Born May 2, 1840 in Barth Tommern Prussia he came to America at twenty. He married Rebecca J. Sellers on October 7 1869 and had two children Edward Freeman who died in infancy and Josie Lee now Mrs Wade Perrigo. He taught about twenty five years in Warren county schools. Survived by wife daughter five grandchildren and Larry Five. Funeral Tuesday at the Christian church Independence with burial in Independence cemetery.

James Black Killed in Runaway Near Hedrick
James Black 48, a Hedrick area farmer, died in a runaway while discing a field. Orville Black’s frightened team caused the four-horse span to run, the disc wheel maiming Black. The body was taken to West Lebanon for an inquest. he was brother-in-law to Lonnie Citizen.
