County truck hit by train at Stewart crossing
A county five ton truck carrying gravel was struck by a northbound freight at Stewart by the C I S railroad. Driver George Watkins and passenger Charles Renville were seriously hurt but survived. They were taken to St Elizabeth hospital Danville for treatment. The truck, valued at 5400, was wrecked beyond repair. The incident disrupted unloading of gravel and prompted salvage talks with the railroad.

Batta v Johnson lands case moved to Fountain County Court
Bernard Batta sues Abe Johnson over a land deal alleging fraud. The case, venued from Warren to Fountain County circuit court in Covington before Judge Omer S Ratcliff, is set for May 23. Insane Man in Jail After Hatchet Threats
Charles Beedle, an employee of Orrie Milligan, showed escalating insanity and threatened his wife and stepchildren with a hatchet on Monday night.
