Forger Nabbed Near Beulah in Coustal County
15 year old Will Tyrell working for John Foster near Beulah in Coustal County is jailed on a charge of passing worthless checks. A $10 note passed to Earl Robison of Attica used the alias Will Kerr. R C Dowler aged about 80 died at his home in Rensselaer Tuesday night. He long lived near Rainsville and in this city, survived by a wife and three daughters Hattie Henkle George Bartlett Frances Helwig and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Rainsville yesterday. Mushroom hunting was the day’s sport in Williamsport with several locals among participants. Barrett Gives Good Lecture On Scenic Indiana
State geologist Edward Barrett spoke at the high school auditorium last Friday on See Scenic Indiana First. He shared observations from travels across the state with vivid scenes of natural beauty including two pictures of Williamsport falls, the second highest in Indiana. The Indiana Historical Commission plans one state park per county, limited now to one per congressional district until funds rise. Williamsport falls may gain recognition later as the park for this district has already been chosen as a northern sand bar likely to be hauled away unless action is taken.

Frank Shaffer of Attica and Seymour Rhode of Pine Village collided near the Pine Creek bridge last Sunday. Shaffer on a motorcycle was somewhat injured while Rhode’s car occupants were unharmed. In Warren Circuit Court Judge B. B. Berry sentenced Clarence Nagle and Barney Hashman to one to fourteen years for stealing 12 bushels of clover seed from David Stevenson. Both pleaded guilty after a cle ar case showing they took seed to Danville to sell before capture. The courtroom scene drew tears from wives and mothers as Nagle’s five week bride and Hashman’s wife watched. Nagle was sent to the Jeffersonville reformatory. Hashman to Michigan City.
