Paul Cox car struck a horse near Five Points three miles northwest of here on a trip from the I C G F banquet. While being towed by William Gustin in a Ford, Cox pulled to pass a wagon driven by Dean Akers and his sister, hit the horse, breaking its left front leg. The buggy was wrecked. occupants escaped with only a scare.
Welcome Home celebration planned for Wednesday May 7 in Indianapolis. All soldiers urged to attend with Warren county expected to send many. Car fares to and from Indianapolis and city expenses will be paid for attending soldiers.
John H. Van Reed became owner of the L. A. Hess auto station formerly Keys stand with possession Monday. Hess remains as sales manager and Ralph Hunter oversees repair. Van Reed aims to build a large Western Indiana station with Oldsmobile Hudson and Dodge agencies and expands repair and accessory departments. Various local residents are noted in brief society items.

Elwood farmer Jack McNett and two women friends were in an auto accident near the overhead bridge northeast of here last Saturday night. Elwood suffered two broken ribs and multiple scrapes and bruises, while the others were unhurt. The crash was caused by glaring lights from an oncoming car that blinded Elwood, sending him toward the east edge of the grade. The Ford roadster owned by Murray Cobb of Winthrop sustained only a broken windshield.

A tank booster for the Victory Liberty Loan slid into a deep ravine near the Anderson farm on a Friday morning. The rear wheels of the hauling truck skidded and the tank dropped into the ditch. It required over a day to recover before the crew continued to Covington via Attica. Mrs. Ethel Smith of Attica visited the city on Tuesday.
