The Wa b river bridge at Attica opened for traffic after delays. Mayor Joe Rice and Russell Robinson crossed in a Ford, with Fountain county officials including Judge Ratcliff and Auditor Newlin in attendance. The 985 foot six span cement bridge costs 363000, funded by Fountain County and the state highway commission.

Fire damaged the Eva Dick farm home near Judyville on Friday afternoon. The blaze appeared to smolder for hours before the roof caught. Estimated losses reach 600 dollars, fully insured. Mrs Dick had just moved back to the farm from her daughter Olimer Stewart’s house in town.

Williamsport to Organize a Local Baseball Team
Plans are underway to form a Williamsport baseball team this season. A tentative plan has been agreed upon and the six acre High heirs tract north of Ed High’s residence has been leased and will be prepared for games when weather permits. Carlson dies aged Swedish immigrant in Attica
John T. Carlson aged 80 6 28 died at his son Albert’s home northeast of here Wednesday evening. He and his wife lived in Attica for four years then with their son. Born in Sweden August 31 1841 he leaves a wife two daughters Mrs John Hackerson of Boswell and Mrs Charles Pearson of Gordon D. and two sons Albert and Elwood of this county. Funeral at Swedish Lutheran church Attica Saturday at 2 pm with burial in Riverside cemetery Attica.

Truck Fire Destroys Athens Bakery Truck in Rainsville
A Ford truck from the Athens bakery of Lafayette was destroyed by fire at 9 30 Friday morning in Rainsville. The vehicle, driven by Carl Pollack of Lafayette and loaded with bread, caught fire when the engine backfired and was valued at 700 dollars.
