West Lebanon Fire Destroys Garage and Barber Shop

A five o'clock Sunday fire in West Lebanon wiped out the Clow garage with twenty two cars two trucks and a tractor in flames. The Reynolds barber shop and pool room were also destroyed. Loss estimated over 50000 with various figures from owners and insurers. Firefighters struggled as water mains were shut and the standpipe ran dry delaying containment.

Mrs King’s Around the World Voyage Captivates Shifting Lands

Mrs L A King and husband Dr L A King completed a six month global circuit and returned home after visiting Canada, Japan, China, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, India and Ceylon. She toured Hongkong Canton Manila Singapore Malacca Penang and more, meeting notable figures and observing diverse cultures along the way.

Live Stock Men Hold Meeting in Warren County

The Warren County Purebred Live Stock Breeders Association held its annual meeting in the County Agent’s office. Officers Harvey Smith, Edward Q. Larch, C. E. Brenner, Talbot Cuningham were re-elected. Purdue Extension’s FLAM Shanklin urged a five member committee to work with the County Agent on Boys and Girls Club work and a possible show in the county. The group aims to reduce travel to Fountain County and boost club participation and publicity through a dedicated committee. Enthusiasm ran high as members discussed ways to boost livestock interest locally.

Superintendent Resigns to Join Carmichael Gravel Co.

Ernest Cox, superintendent of the Williamsport height and water plant for the past year, has handed in his resignation to the city council and expects to be released soon. He has accepted a position with Carmichael Gravel Co. and will begin work there as soon as he is released.
